Ms Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva

Ms Mkhwanazi-Xaluva was appointed by President Jacob Zuma to head this institution from 2014 to 2019 when her term ends. Sis Thoko, as she is affectionetly known, is a former employee at the Commission having headed the Public Education and Advocacy division.


Deputy Chairperson

Professor David Luka Mosoma.

Professor Mosoma is a former Vice Chancellor at the University Of South Africa (UNISA). He brings to the commission vast interpersonal expertise and is a renowned academic.



Mr Edward Mafadza.

Mr Mafadza has been acting in the position of Chief Executive Officer since April 2014. He has worked extensively for the Commission as head of the Public Education and Engagement Unit.
